Introduction
The Guilford
Center is committed to assuring person-centered services that are designed around
the individual needs of the consumer.
As the administrative agency for public mental health, developmental disability and substance abuse services, The Guilford Center is responsible for managing the delivery of quality services to consumers through private community providers.
The Guilford Center also operates Crisis/Emergency Services for Guilford County residents at its facilities in Greensboro and High Point. In addition, the Center provides psychiatric and medication management services.
ACCESSing
care is easy.
Our 24 hour, seven-day-a-week ACCESS line provides you with
the opportunity to speak to a professional clinician any time.
When you call our ACCESS line at 1.800.853.5163, or 1.866.518.6778 (TTY) for deaf and hard of hearing consumers, the clinician
will ask you a series of questions. These will help us determine
the level and type of service that best matches your needs.
You make the decisions.
After this brief assessment, you will be given the opportunity
to choose which course you want to take. This could
be visiting our Crisis/Emergency Services, making an appointment
with our Intake Team or being referred to another program within
our agency. It may also mean a referral to one of our contract
providers or another community agency that delivers services that suit your needs. With ACCESS, you have the peace of mind
that whatever your need, help is just a phone call away.
Professionals may also make referrals via our ACCESS line.
