Community and Professional Resources
The Web can bring all kinds of information right to your home computer. But distinguishing quality information from inferior information can be tricky. The following resources are used by Guilford Center staff for reference and referral. You may find these sites to be helpful as you research issues on mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse. We have also provided links to governmental sites, advocacy groups and professional groups.
In addition, through our involvement with human service partners, we feature Kaleidoscope: Cultural Diversity in Guilford County. The cultural profiles included here were compiled from interviews with people living in our community who have come here from many other countries. We hope they will serve as one resource to help human service providers ensure culturally sensitive and appropriate services.
