CABHA - Critical Access Behavioral Health Agency

The Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services (MH/DD/SAS) has announced its intention to establish Critical Access Behavioral Health Agencies (CABHAs) to provide a continuum of mental health and substance abuse services. NOTICE: The Guilford Center is no longer accepting requests for letters of support for Child Residential Services Level II (.1300), Level III (.1700), Level IV (.1800) and PRTF (.1900). On June 16, 2009, all Local Management Entities received instruction from the Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services to convene Child and Family Teams to develop alternative plans for children currently being served in Level III and Level IV residential facilities. As a result, the Guilford Center is conducting an analysis of need for alternative services that may arise as a result of the elimination of these Level III and Level IV facilities. We are not currently issuing any new letters of support for the above residential levels until this analysis

IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM NC HHDDSAS: Due to incomplete legislative reporting requirements, the new PCP format and Instruction Manual will NOT be effective January 1, 2009. The new effective date will be posted as soon as possible.


IMPORTANT! The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services has approved revisions in service definitions for Community Support contained in the State Plan Amendment submitted June 30, 2008. This includes implementation of tiered rates for different levels of community support workers: licensed professionals, qualified professionals, associate professionals and paraprofessionals. The rate changes are effective with dates of service January 1, 2009.
