Solicitation of Proposals to Receive MH/DD/SAS Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant (SAPTBG) Funds for HIV Early Intervention Services SFY 06-07

Background: The North Carolina Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services has invited Local Management Entities (LMEs) currently receiving SAPTBG HIV Set Aside and/or IV funds to apply for available HIV funds. In anticipation of an award for this program, The Guilford Center is completing a competitive bid process to choose a local non-profit provider for HIV Early Intervention Services for at risk substance abusing clients at the site(s) where these individuals are undergoing substance abuse treatment.

The money available to The Guilford Center LME to plan this program is $119,847. This money is Federal non-UCR dollars (expenditure-based dollars for salaries, equipment, travel, etc.).

If you are interested in applying for theses monies to provide Early Intervention Services, please review the Request for Plan for Use of MH/DD/SAS Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant Funds for HIV Early Intervention Services SFY 06-06. Please answer questions #1-4 on the above noted document (pages 9-12). Please also include in your response a cover sheet listing agency name, address, phone number, and contact person information.

Please submit your written responses (1 original and 3 copies, for a total of 3) to: Att: Heather Krauss, The Guilford Center, 4th Floor Reception, 232 North Edgeworth Street, Greensboro, NC 27401 by June 2, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. Email and faxed responses will not be accepted.
