The CareLink billing procedure that is now used by The Guilford Center is accompanied by a more methodical payment process. Accounting Manager, John Eagles, explains the changes that affect you, as providers, in submitting claims. Ultimately, diligence in following these procedures will result in more timely delivery of payments to providers.  Therefore, you will want to read the letter very carefully.

Memorandum from Paula Snipes, R.N., C., Director of Nursing

A Medicaid audit was conducted at The Guilford Center in November 2005. As a help to providers as you begin developing policies and procedures to comply with Medicaid and DMA requirements, Director of Nursing, Paula Snipes, R.N., C., shares results of The Center’s audit, indicating problems in the areas of hiring, orientation and supervision of staff, as well as documentation of clinical services.

Developing and Implementing Person-Centered Plans of Crisis Response: Integrating a Comprehensive Local Approach
This June 8, 2006 session is the fourth part in a series of trainings on crisis response. It will focus on developing and implementing person centered crisis plans that are both integrated in design and comprehensive in scope. It will directly address the expectations of the Division of MH/DD/SAS regarding crisis plans, how to train staff, and policies and procedures, including assessments, forms, and formats that can facilitate this process. Attendance at previous sessions is not a prerequisite for attendance in this session.

Maximizing Efficiencies in an Unpredictable Reimbursement Environment
This June 15, 2006 session presents important information for providers who need to maximize efficiencies within their revenue cycle. It also presents practical information for providers who bill (or want to bill) for Medicare reimbursed mental health services.

Register Now for the June 2006 Contractor Orientation Sessions

For: MEDICAID ENDORSED Providers and STATE-FUNDED/IPRS Providers

The Guilford Center will sponsor two informative sessions on June 8, 2006 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Greensboro. The first session will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will be for Medicaid Endorsed providers only. The second session will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will be for State-Funded/IPRS Providers only. No fee is required to attend these sessions. Registration is requested.
