Effective January 1, 2013, the Guilford Center’s merger with Sandhills Center was completed. Sandhills Center is now the Local Management Entity – Managed Care Organization for Guilford County as well as Anson, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, and Richmond counties.Sandhills Center provides management and oversight of mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services in this nine-county catchment area.
Sandhills Center maintains a local presence in Guilford County, providing service management and oversight functions to include care coordination and ensuring 24-hour access to services. The Sandhills Center local office is located at 201 North Eugene Street in Greensboro, NC, the previous location of the Guilford Center.
Guilford County Medicaid consumers’ services remain uninterrupted during this transition period.
